Art is a child's creative way of expressing their feelings and what they know about the world while exploring a wide range of art materials. Students use problem solving and communication skills while they manipulate and experiment with materials. Art is a very sensory experience for young children and this helps to develop their gross and fine motor skills. We work on physical development through activities such as large easel paintings, pounding clay, building with cardboard and we work on fine motor skills through activities such as using tape, cutting, buttons, wires and beads. Your child’s play in Art allows them to explore, experiment, take risks, develop skills and techniques and create meaning.
Please feel free to join a lesson sometime!
