In PE, we are focusing on being active. We are working with obstacle courses, short stints of jogging, scooters, ball throws and games of tag. Once finished with these activities we are regrouping and feeling our heartbeats, looking at each other's sweat, and noticing how our breathing or feelings have changed, as well as whether or not we have red faces. We are analyzing our bodies and figuring out what being active feels like. In class, we've also been taking a look at healthy eating and discussing how that effects us physically. We are also talking about how to keep those pesky germs away!
Here is a conversation that took place in our class on Thursday.
A conversation while playing with blocks before going outside.
Yahvi: We need to be active.
Lucia: In my home, I be active. Actually, walking is a part of exercise. Walking is exercise.
Hailey: And running, too.
Lucia: Yeah, running, too.
When you are sweaty it shows you are strong.
Yahvi: Yes, I know that.
Lucia: I do exercise and she shows me.
Yahvi: You know, I do yoga in my home or else my back will ache.
I am so happy to hear that the blazing lightning cheetahs have been having these chats outside of PE! Woo hoo. Keep it up. Hugs and high fives Coach Nat :)
